In episode 19 of the Alternageek podcast we talked about a new early beta of a service called SnapFoo.com. SnapFoo allows you to post pictures to an account much like text to Twitter. I have written a more robust writeup at Alternageek.
If you would like to get an invite to SnapFoo.com’s early beta, send me an email or a direct message on Twitter with your email address and I will send one your way.

UPDATE:
I have gotten emails from both Jeremy Write of b5media and Rick Calvert of BlogWorld regarding this blog post and the issues I encountered prior to the conference. Both were very helpful and generous. It’s wonderful to know that people are listening and working to resolve the hiccups that occur when planning a conference. The conference is only four days away and I am still looking forward to it.
Now, if only my Moo stickers that I ordered over three weeks ago would arrive. ;)
Show of hands as to who will grab it right away? Anyone already using it?
My favorite features:
I am participating in Blog Action Day 2007 on three blogs this year which means three posts about the environment. If you haven’t heard of Blog Action Day, the website for the event best summerizes it:
On October 15th, bloggers around the web will unite to put a single important issue on everyone’s mind - the environment. Every blogger will post about the environment in their own way and relating to their own topic. Our aim is to get everyone talking towards a better future.
Blogging on three blogs today means I need three topics since I would really rather not just repost the same snippet everywhere. Three blogs, three different focuses, one general idea. I came across an email from Eco-Libris about replanting trees for every book you read and immediately found my topic for Linuxchic.net. (more…)
Your eyes are not deceiving you, Linuxchic.net is running yet another new theme. This one is special and different from all the other mood changes; this month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Linuxchic.net is going Pink for October.
“About 178,480 women in the United States will be found to have invasive breast cancer in 2007. About 40,460 women will die from the disease this year. Right now there are about two and a half million breast cancer survivors in the United States.
“The chance of a woman having invasive breast cancer some time during her life is about 1 in 8. The chance of dying from breast cancer is about 1 in 35. Breast cancer death rates are going down.”
-excerpt from the American Cancer Society
Here are some things you can do:

(You can hear a review of the iPod Touch as well on episode 16 of the Alternageek Podcast.)
For those of you following me on Twitter and/or Facebook, you will have heard all about my quest for Apple’s new iPod model, the Touch. Getting my hands on one in the Greater Kansas City area was not the easiest thing to do but finally got my hands on one on Friday evening when a new shipment arrived at the Apple Store on the Plaza. I opted for the 16 gig model which was the only one in stock at the time anyway.
The iPod Touch packaging is apparently supposed to make you feel as though you are now in possession of a true luxury item. Apparently that is just the Apple way. Inside the glorious bauble awaited, well, my “Touch” (excuse the pun). (more…)
